Known as the “butter blade”, the Swann Morton No.10R stainless steel sterile blade is used in aesthetic procedures such as dermaplaning — a method of controlled surgical scraping that exfoliates the epidermis to refinish the skin’s top layers.

Shorter and more rounded than the No.14, it is ideal for smaller, more restricted areas of the face. The rounded (bull nose) tip prevents accidental snagging or scratching, providing a more effective and consistent finish.

Dermaplaning can be performed on small areas or the entire face, and can be used alone or in conjunction with other procedures such as a chemical peel, microdermabrasion, or fluorescent pulsed light (FPL). When performed prior to other treatments, it removes peach fuzz that can trap excess dirt and oil.
