Water Slider / Decal Nail Art - Part 2
Scrow down for more information
Water decals (also known as nail art sliders) are an easy way to create intricate designs on the nails. They lie flat, don’t protrude, and last well when applied and sealed correctly.
With Polish:
- Apply nail polish and let dry completely
- Cut out the selected design, leaving a manageable edge
- Place 1–2 drops of water on a sheet and place the design face-down on the water
- Wait 10–15 seconds, then lift — the backing sheet should remain behind
- Remove excess water, slide the image onto the nail plate and smooth with an orange stick or brush
- File any excess film and ensure no water remains before sealing with topcoat
With Gel Polish:
- Apply and cure gel polish as normal
- Cut and size the design to fit the nail
- Soak and slide the decal as above
- Apply topcoat (don’t cure yet), slide the image onto the uncured topcoat and smooth
- Cure for 30 seconds, file excess film, seal with topcoat and cure completely
- Remove tacky residue as normal
